BLINDED BY LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT
500 Nights of Winter was Gene’s debut acoustic rom-com cabaret show that premiered in March 2021 at the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
Featuring 8 original indie dream-pop songs and 2 heartfelt duets, 500 Nights of Winter is a true coming-of-age story on being blinded by love at first sight. Centered around denial, the show explores themes surrounding relationships such as romanticism, projection, mind games, red flags, revenge and escapism.
Self-produced and featuring a guest appearance by emerging singer-songwriter Courteney Hooper, the 2021 Adelaide Fringe season was performed to sold-out audiences and live-streamed with viewers tuning in from 5 countries around the world. While the second sold-out show was canceled due to rain, it was replaced with a last-minute show being performed just 24 hours later.
